Health & Wellbeing
Forward South Partnership is funded by the Public Health Agency to deliver a range of health and wellbeing initiatives across South Belfast.
This includes coordination of some South Belfast Health delivery events relating to mental health and physical health as well as a leading role in the Dementia Friendly South Belfast initiative. The Partnership also coordinates with five other PHA funded organisations to deliver the South Belfast Development Fund programme which includes events promoting healthy lifestyles for children and older people. The Strategic Health officer has been coordinating the response to the Cost of Living crisis. FSP have created a South Belfast Cost of Living booklet outlining all services available to those who may require it. We were part of the Belfast City Council Hardship scheme, providing electricity and Gas vouchers to particular individuals who fitted the criterion.
In Belvoir, Taughmonagh and wider South Belfast communities our Community Health Capacity Worker delivers a range of health programmes in the local area with a focus on supporting the development of Community hubs and local forums in the area.
The Partnership also works with Belfast Health and Social Care Trust and community partners to coordinate and deliver the South Belfast Community Response Plan to death by suicide.
