Crisis Counselling
Counselling is a safe and confidential space for you to talk to a trained professional about your issues and concerns. The counsellor will help you explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours to develop an understanding of yourself and others. The counsellor will not give you their opinions, advice or prescribe medication, instead, they will help you find your own solutions – whether that’s making effective changes in your life or finding ways of coping with your problems.
Lighthouse counselling is delivered in-person at Forward South Partnership, with each counselling session lasting for a maximum of 50 minutes for 6 sessions.
The counselling service is available to persons aged 18 and over and is accessed via GP referral only. Your GP can refer you to the Belfast Trust Primary Care Talking Therapies and Wellbeing HUB who will conduct a telephone assessment with you to determine whether counselling is appropriate for you.
During the assessment stage, you can request that your referral be passed to Lighthouse for in person counselling in South Belfast.
